Accessibility Statement
The Fitton Center for Creative Arts offers every person equal access to the arts. While our building is ADA compliant, we also recognize compliance is a minimum standard. As such, we strive continually to make improvements to our facility and programming that make it more truly accessible and enjoyable for all.

 

Parking

  • Four designated accessible parking spaces, each with access aisles

  • Front-entrance curb cut

  • Automatic interior and exterior door-open buttons at the entrance
     

Building Navigation

  • Oversized elevator access to all floors

  • Room signage in Braille
     

Bathrooms

  • Mobility-device-accessible bathroom stalls on first and third floors
     

Studios/Classrooms

  • Mobility-device-accessible pottery wheel

  • Height-adjustable tables in basement studio and studio 104

  • Ramp-accessible movement studio

  • With advance notice, the Fitton Center requires no class registration or enrollment fees for support workers to accompany/assist registered students during classes/workshops.
     

Performance Spaces

  • Two designated mobility-device-accessible seats in the theater (with companion seating)

  • Flexible room setup in the Carruthers Signature Ballroom and Rotary Vista Room– as well as on the Riverview Terrace – to accommodate all mobility devices
     

Exhibitions

  • High-contrast, large-print gallery signage

  • With advance notice, the Fitton Center also offers tactile tours, including selected artworks and building features
