Creative Aging Painting

This class will introduce students to acrylic painting basics and materials. Students will learn acrylic mixing strategies, color theory, and various approaches to painting including blending and glazing. Modeling form, rendering space, and studying masterworks will be the focus of this class. All supplies included in the cost of the class.

Creative Aging Pottery

Ages: 50+

Learn the basics of hand-building with clay to create pots, platters and more. Learn to work with coils and slabs and create surface textures with a variety of tools. Finished work will incorporate various glazing and decorating techniques.

Creative Aging Mosaics

Ages: 50+
Instructors: Lori Farr

This class will teach the basic fundamentals of mosaic arts. Learn how to create mosaics from a variety of media including ceramic, pottery, colored glass tiles and sheets. Explore basic design principles, color theory, materials, and techniques. Discover how to cut and shape tesserae using a variety of tools. This is a great class for beginners and intermediate students who want to further their skills in creating mosaics. While all supplies are included, students may provide their own substrates and glass tiles if desired.

Creative Aging Yoga

Ages: 50+
Instructor: Bevy Sue Hammons
Tuition: $25

Suitable for beginners or experienced students, this class explores the fundamentals of yoga to help calm the mind while improving flexibility, balance, and core strength. Classes begin with yoga breathing techniques and movements to warm muscles and joints followed by basic yoga postures. Each class ends with a guided deep relaxation leaving students feeling refreshed and energized. Suitable for all fitness levels. Wear clothes that allow you to move freely. Mats and props are provided, but students may bring their own.
