Quick Tips: Pinholes in Glaze

What are pinholes?

Pinholes in pottery glaze are small holes penetrating the glaze surface. They can be caused by trapped gases during firing, dust particles, or rough clay surfaces, and can be prevented by ensuring a smooth, dust-free surface and proper glaze application.

The best way to prevent them is to always wash or dust off bisque-ware before glazing!
