Thanks to everyone for the patience and understanding as we contended with last week's blizzard! For those of you who are in classes that had their first day cancelled, I wanted to share the make-up days we will be adding to the schedule:

Lots of bisque and glaze-ware ready for pick up!

Unfortunately, there was a piece that exploded and took out a few surrounding pieces in the bisque firing.

If either of the damaged items are yours, please reach out and I’ll set you up with replacement clay. This is a great reminder that if a piece is completely enclosed without a hole for air to escape, it will explode. As the piece shrinks during firing and there is no where for the air to go and this is the result.

I have placed on an order on some glazes that are running low including Bule Rutile and a gallon of Honey Flux. There is a pint of Honey Flux in the studio, but I know it will go fast. The gallon should be in stock again soon and on its way in the next few weeks.

I’ve recently gotten a request to order the Spectrum’s Running Hot Chowder glaze, however this is a very runny glaze and I don’t feel comfortable keeping it in the studio. Honey Flux is very similar in color and effect, but isn’t quite as runny and won’t risk issues in the kiln.

It's that time of year! We are closed today, but hope to resume weekly Studio+ next week. Noah will be subbing for me as monitor next week because I will be out of town.

All glaze and bisque ware that was in the kiln room was fired today and will be unloaded Tuesday January 14th!
