Hamilton (OH) – The Fitton Center for Creative Arts announces its 2024-2025 Fitton Family Fridays series.
Designed specifically for children to enjoy the wonder of live performing arts, the Fitton Family Fridays series also makes for a multi-generational experience with parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins and friends. We offer complimentary kid-friendly snacks and beverages before each show and kick off the season with Kids Opening Night event complete with red carpet and paparazzi.
Our friends from the Lane Library will be on hand for many shows this season, too, as we aim to assist young theatergoers in becoming lifelong readers by getting them registered for a library card.
Fitton Family Fridays shows include:
- WINNIE THE POOH (Lexington Children’s Theatre) - 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024Lexington Children’s Theatre returns to Hamilton with all the familiar characters – Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo and Tigger – for a charming evening of family fun. Dress as your favorite characters from the Hundred Acre Wood or go formal to celebrate Kids Opening Night before the show.
- THE HUNGRY, HUNGRY BOOKWORM (River City Puppets) - 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2024The library has a bookworm gobbling up all the delicious stories right out of the books. Giant puppets, storytelling and music come together to save the tasty tales as veteran puppeteer Dylan Shelton brings this new adaptation to life.
- CAPTAIN NEMO’S ADVENTURE ACADEMY 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024The cantankerous - and perpetually curious - Captain Nemo brings our watery-blue planet to life for landlubbers with help from the elusive Angler Fish, a giant squid, a jar of bioluminescent plankton and even whale poop! Captain Nemo hilariously showcases the Cycle of Life above and below the waves.
- CALYPSO CHRISTMAS - 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024North Pole? No thanks! It’s cold up there! Christmas at the Fitton Center is going to be hot when the renowned Sunburners Party Band turns up the thermostat with holiday sounds from the islands and gets us ready for a Calypso Christmas.
- FREDDY FOSSIL’S DINO SHOW - 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025Zany dinosaur hunter Freddy Fossil fosters a love for exploration and adventure with the help of amazingly life-like dinosaur puppets and plenty of comical audience participation. We’ll learn why it stinks to be extinct during this “pre-hysterical” night of family fun!
- MEET THE MUSIC 2 (Butler Philharmonic Orchestra) - 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2025BPO is back for a brand-new orchestral music experience showing how different instruments produce different sounds and how individual sounds create a harmonious whole. Complete with the musical “petting zoo” where kids can come onstage, see and hold the instruments after the performance.
- A PIRATEY PETER PAN (The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati) - 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025Get a fresh take on the enduring story of Peter Pan when The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati turns everyone – even the audience - into a pirate. Sail off to Neverland for an “arrgh-some” interactive adventure.
- ALICE IN THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD (Playhouse in the Park) - 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025Prepare for a mixed-up, mashed-up misadventure when Alice goes through the looking glass and lands with Winnie the Pooh and pals in this world-premiere production by award-winning playwright Maggie Lou Rader. It’s two beloved stories rolled into one crazy crossover evening.

The Fitton Center Season Brochure is in production and arrives in member mailboxes in early August. Tickets for the 2024-2025 season go on sale to Fitton Center members at 9 a.m. Monday, August 12 and to the general public during the Season Launch event, 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 17.
