The workshop centers on comic books from SOS ART’s Cartoons for Peace project. Saturday's event focuses on hunger and food insecurity through the lens of Lunch Time (by our own Director of Education and Outreach, Kate Rowekamp) and Heaping Harvest (by Madison Haynes and Kate Rowekamp).
Space is limited to 10 participants. The workshop runs 10 a.m. to noon at the Fitton Center, 101 S. Monument Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
Veteran instructor Sarah Hynfield helps students analyze the two comics and - using design and narrative techniques learned from them - guides the students to create their own short comic story and/or an illustrated poster raising awareness for food justice.
Register online right here and stay tuned for information about additional FREE workshops later in the year, including one on Saturday, March 1.
