Galleries opened

Nearly 300 people attended the Gallery Opening Celebration for the Home Free/Being Good visual art exhibitions Saturday, October 28, at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts.

Artist Maureen O'Keefe was on hand with her Being Good collection in the first-floor Monument Gallery.

Co-curators Dr. Nicole R. Fleetwood & Aimee Wissman, with Returning Artists Guild co-founder Kamisha Thomas and several of the artists represented in Home Free: Ohio Artists Envision Prison Abolition filled the second-floor galleries.

In addition, Ohio Poet Laureate Kari-Gunter Seymour read award-winning works by currently incarcerated poets as part of the event.

Both exhibitions will be on view through January 5, 2024.
