During this quarantine it is becoming harder and harder to find things to occupy our time with. A lot of us have not had this much free time in a long time and it can be hard to find something to keep you entertained throughout the day. If you have kids this can be even harder as their attention spans are even shorter.
There is a really fun craft that I have found that you can do by yourself or with your kids if you have them, and it is a fun way to use up your time in a creative way. This is also a really good craft for spring time and for a lot of us it could brighten up your Easter being possibly celebrated at home.
Essentially the only things you will need are: a window, painters tape, acrylic paint, paint brushes, and dish soap.
First you will need to take the painters tape and create whatever design you have in mind. Usually what I have seen is that people do triangles of all sizes but feel free to take it to other places and do different and fun shapes. Then you will need to take a mixture of acrylic paint and a few drops of dish soap and mix it together. The dish soap really helps the paint to come off once you want to remove the design. Once your paint and soap mixture is mixed, you simply take your paintbrush and paint whatever colors you desire into the shapes. Depending on the quality of your paint it might take two or three coats for it to be fully opaque. After the paint is dry, you peel the tape off and BAM! You have yourself an at home stained glass window.
The great thing about this craft is that it’s so simple. That’s why this is a really fun thing to do with kids because they can do it themselves and really get some joy out of it.
I hope everyone is doing okay and hanging in there. I’m looking forward to what the world will have to offer once this is all over. Be safe and make sure to wash your hands!
