The Fitton Center celebrates Christmas in July.
Well, celebrating might not be the right word. But with a record summer camp season in the books, it's finally time to finish up the repairs made necessary by our frozen flood over the 2022 holidays.
We've shuffled staffers to different parts of the building, stripped the walls and floors, and are about to start work on the entry foyer and lobby, while finishing the work we began in the front office.
Sarting Monday, July 31, there will be plastic sheeting with zipper doors at the entrance, the box office, before the carpet outside the front office and across the hall on the opposite side. This will prevent dust from getting into the rest of the building and - most importantly - our galleries, where the Human Nature/Class Act exhibition is going up.
What does that mean to our guests? There will be no interruption to any classes or studio time - we have Afternoon Pottery, Studio+ and the Golden Tappers scheduled during normal business hours next week - but please be advised navigating the plastic may be challenging for some.
We recommend postponing any extra visits until renovations are complete.
We hope to reopen the front office Monday, August 7, and complete the rest of the work the following week in time to set up for Season Launch on Aug. 18.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can always call 513-863-8873, ext. 110 or drop us a line at frontdesk@fittoncenter.org. We're happy to talk with you about our progress. Keep an eye on our website and social media for updates throughout the process.
Meantime, we hope you will join us to Paint the Town Red at Season Launch and take advantage of our 20-percent-off membership offer through the month of August.
