(Hamilton, Ohio) - Much like the Fitton Center for Creative Arts 2024-2025 Season itself, performers brought something for everyone to the Season Launch Community Block Party August 17.

From the opening strains of the Butler Philharmonic Orchestra's brass combo breathing life into the familiar Muppet Show Theme Song to the Presby Praise Band closing the evening in thanksgiving, scores of performers took the stage through the afternoon.

And the adjacent stairs.

And even the street.

New Generation Dance dazzled with vertical choreography up, down and over the handrail on the Monument Avenue staircase, in addition to its usual array of spectacular flat-surface moves.

The Ross High School Marching Band and Flag Corps - some 100 members strong - entered and exited in crisp formation right down the middle of the road before and after filling the stage and overflowing onto the plaza.

Both Performing Arts Inc. and Greater Hamilton Civic Theater sang and danced from the classic and contemporary musical canon, while Miami Valley Ballet Theater and our own resident company - The Golden Tappers - offered a variety of dance styles.

The Butler Tech School of the Arts rocked - literally and figuratively - with four different bands blazing through everything from the classic rock of Cream to the powerful metal of Pantera.

All with DJ Hubs spinning sweet tracks between the acts.
