Successful Launch

(Hamilton, Ohio) - Consider it launched.

The Fitton Center for Creative Arts hosted its 2024-2025 Season Launch Community Block Party Saturday, August 17.

The revamped event moved from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon. It went from a mostly indoor event with some extra room on the terrace outside to a mostly outdoor event with plenty to see and do inside.

It shifted from being Fitton-centric to providing space for more than two dozen community organizations to come together and celebrate not only the arts and the beginning of a new creative calendar, but also the continued and sustained success of the ongoing Hamilton Renaissance.

And it worked.

Sunny skies - Phew! a huge sigh of relief - meant big crowds could enjoy not only the Fitton Center and its community partners up and down Monument Avenue, but also nine different performing groups entertaining on the stage in the plaza, DORA drinks and food from catering partner Two Women in a Kitchen.

They got to make art of their own on the walls outside and enjoy the sensational creations of the Keepsake Exhibition on the walls inside. There were mosaic demonstrations in the pergola, pottery and printmaking demos in the studios and hands-on crafting in the creation station and youth pottery studio.

All while the box office and main office were busy with guests booking tickets, renewing memberships and registering for classes.

A big and sincere thank you to everyone who helped make it happen and to everyone who came out and enjoyed the day.

Let's do it again soon, yeah?

Meantime, check out some photos from the day in the gallery below.
