Taking a spin

The joint was jumping over the weekend.

DJ Arie and her drummer Mango laid down alllllll the beats behind a series of rappers and dancers from Healing Broken Circles and Transit Arts Crew during Home Spun.

The October 28 performance was something of a departure from traditional two-act Fitton Showstoppers Series performances, with continuous music and motion in a tight 90-minute set.

Paired with the Opening Celebration for the Home Free/Being Good art exhibitions, Home Spun filled the theater with some of the same raw emotional content on display in the galleries, except visceral lyrics replaced paintings and evocative choreography stood in for sculpture.

Check out some images from Home Spun in the photo gallery below.

Next up in the Showstoppers series, Just Vince & the Fellas return for the SOLD OUT Motown & More Christmas Saturday, December 9. In January, Ohio's own American Roots musicians - The Wayfarers - make their Fitton Center debut Saturday, January 20, 2024. Tickets for The Wayfarers are available right here.
